Sheila Quirke is the Newest Our Town, Our Heroes Winner!

We are pleased to announce Sheila Quirke is the latest winner of Our Town, Our Heroes! Capturing nearly 90 percent of the votes cast in this round, Sheila rallied her community in person and online with her story.
Jamie Morris nominated Sheila for the Our Town, Our Heroes program, describing her friend’s steadfast humility and caring spirit.
“After losing her daughter Donna to cancer, Sheila started a nonprofit, Donna’s Good Things, to provide joyful opportunities for children facing adversity,” wrote Jamie. “She also raises awareness for pediatric cancer by sharing her personal story with others. Instead of seeking recognition, Sheila shares a good news story on her blog each day to highlight the good work others are doing.”

Both Sheila and Jamie will receive a one-week loan of a Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac vehicle and a full tank of gas. In addition, Sheila will receive a $500 gift card with the challenge to keep driving positive change in her community.
Congratulations also go to our runner-up, Bonnie Kenaz-Mara, and her nominator, Amy Bizzarri. Both Bonnie and Amy will receive one-week vehicle loans.
