Chicago Photo Challenge

In preparation for 2011 Chicago Auto Show media days, Driving the Midwest hosted a “Photo Challenge” for Chicago area social media influencers. This challenge provided particpants with the new Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC vehicles to drive for the weekend to visit their favorite Chicagoland landmark to take a photo of their vehicle and explain why the location inspires them. Each participant’s photo, and a brief caption that explains thier chosen landmark, is displayed below. During the last few days, the public voted for their favorite photo to determine a winner.
Voting for this challenge has ended. Stay tuned for more information about which participant received the most votes. The winner, which will be officially announced at a private event on Thursday, February 10 at the Chicago Auto Show, will receive a two-week loan of the Chevrolet Volt! We will share photos and details shortly after the winner announcement!

can I vote for all of my amazing friends?
It was a SUPER FUN thing to do!!! Let's GO Chicago Auto Show and GM!
love Duong Sheahan's country adventure with a luxury car that's up to taking you on the road and back (esp in this Chicago weather!).
I know what you mean, Sami.
How is it that I'm in a photo challenge with these awesome fellow Chicago buddies!!
ditto!
Thanks Jeannie & Thanks for your vote. The Acadia Denali is definitely Luxury!! Rugged Luxury…Rugged Elegance…
Duong, love your description on why you took and love the photo. Chicago is my home away from home. And so the photo inspires me also. Great job.
This was so much fun! I love the friendly competition. I wish we could all "win" but I feel like we already have!
Awesome pic Duong! ❤❤
Great wheels Duong! Fantastic shot. How were you able to hold the horses still?
Thank so much CD and for your Vote! It's a fun challenge.
Theresa, your photo and car is awesome!! I love the pearly white & and I almost did a Chicago backdrop. LOL
When I arrived, they were no where to be found. I hadn't anticipated on seeing horses, as I was told over summer they go away for winter…and VOILA they all came out and followed me all over the ranch. I think I made new friends!!
Vote for Kris!
Voted , Good Luck Duong (Smile) Beautiful with Snow and Horses
A Motor City shout out to all ten participants! Picking a winner is very difficult. I thought the essays were terrific, especially from Amy, Kris and Theresa. The American flag unfurled behind the Terrain at the MM Hall of Fame is awesome.
But in the end Duong's picture of the Acadia Denali stole the show. I think our colleagues at GMC could use that, as is, in a sales brochure.
Thanks to all for participating in this!
Regards,
Your friends at GM HQ in Detroit
Voted! Good luck!
I love all of the photos!
"The GMC Terrain is an industry-leading fuel-efficient crossovers, making it an ecologically conscious option…" in front of a green building… brilliant!
Classic Buick in front of Rockefeller Chapel, simply elegant!
Duong Sheahan's Rugged Luxury speaks to me…loved riding in the Denali's in Chicago.
Great American autos in a great American city driven by great American women!
JOY!
Good Luck Dwana….
"2011 Chevrolet Cruze by Amy DeRosa" Am I crazy or is that a Buick Regal?
Hey Duong, great car slick as can be. I visualize slidin' down the road in this great machine all wrapped in glamor. Kinda' makes the desert look dry here in Arizona.
Vote Nicole!
Duong, this is too funny. I realized after I took a close look that the distinctive fence also surrounds our yard. We live just over the hill from the horses! Too funny.
Beth, you are so blessed to be on the other side of the property. I wrote in my notes about looking over the hill….wow girl!!!!
From a photographers eye I have to vote for 2011 GMC Acadia Denali by Duong Sheahan-great photo-but from a great story view point, I vote for 2011 GMC Acadia Denali by Theresa Carter–then nobody tells a better green story than 2011 GMC Terrain by Amy Ravit Korin
All are good but going with Amy and the GMC Terrain. Nice work. #twine

Duong, that is such a great photo…love it!!
The photo by Duong Sheahan is absolutely stunning. Not only does it make me want to buy a GMC Acadia Denali, it also makes me want to move to the midwest. Great job Duong!
Dang – maybe I need to used my dist list! haha Thanks, Nathan!
Definitely the 2010 Acadia Denali by DUONG SHEEHAN!!! LOVE THE HORSES AND THE BEAUTY OF NATURE REALLY COMPLIMENTS THE BEAUTY OF THE CAR!!
Beautiful photograph Duong…the best by far!
All the pics are nice but the photo by Duong Sheahan is absolutely stunning, I love it, Duong gets my vote!
Wow! some amazing pictures, but the one with the horses is by far my favorite!!
DUONG SHEAHAN'S image is the best, I would say. It's professional enough, and I love the detail of the horses looking on, having "horsepower envy," as it were. Clever and nicely done.
Beautiful picture! Nice photo. My vote is for GMC Acadia Denali by Duong Sheahan.
Hope u win! Love where u took the pic
I'm liking the 2011 Chevy Avalanche by Dwana DelaCerna. Chevy,Black Hawks, CheeseBorger, Pepsi and 2 a.m. That's Chicago Baby all the way…… You gotta Love it.
These are amazing photographs as are many of the brief "stories," especially the one about Rossi's. I love dive bars, but especially the heart of cities and their people (Detroiters understand that!). The Acadia at the ranch is an awesome shot – especially love how snow turns blue in bright sunlight. I can tell you had fun with this challenge. Thanks for making it fun for us as well. My family and I vacation in Chicago about twice a year so many of these sites are familiar to me. Thanks for sharing.
