The PoshPorts team was treated to a feast for eyes at the Woodward Dream Cruise. It was our first time at the event to celebrate the automobile, most notably the American classics and muscle cars. This year’s festivities were extra special because the Chevrolet Corvette, one of the most esteemed iconic American automobile, is celebrating its 60th anniversary.
We felt great pride in both the Midwest and the American auto industry as car after beautiful car paraded down the route. We gathered with other awestruck onlookers near the street giving thumbs-up to our favorite classic rides. Some folks even sat on the second story balconies of traditional haunts like Duggan’s pub to take in the view.
On our journey, we experienced both the past and present of what Detroit automakers like General Motors have to offer. While we didn’t get to drive a classic muscle car, we did get up close and personal with several new Cadillac vehicles. The CTS-V wagon gave us an eye-opening and comfortable drive from Chicago to Detroit. We also tested out the spacious Cadillac XTS, a luxury car with more bells and whistles than we could use in a lifetime. The heads up speedometer alone gave us an “aha!” moment.
If you want to pay homage to some incredible vehicles, their makers, owners and keepers, don’t miss the Woodward Dream Cruise next year. In the meantime, ride along with us during our adventures in the video below.
