This fall, Driving the Midwest and GMC lent my family a 2013 Terrain Denali to travel to Chicago from Detroit and attend the Chicago Toy & Game Fair. I grew up in GM country so it was like having a taste of home for a week!

The GMC Denali seats five people comfortably. The rear is also spacious, with plenty of room for luggage that can be hidden under a privacy guard. For our trip, we were able to fit four adults and one child, not to mention a stroller in the back.

While you would expect many of the features of the Denali, I did notice a few things I hadn’t experienced in a vehicle before. In addition to the camera for backup assistance, there is also a lane drifting alert that lights up every time someone is in your blind spot. At first this was an adjustment, but in the end I truly found it helpful.

The most surprising thing about our test drive was we only had to fill up on gas twice during our entire trip. The gas mileage is approximately what my current car gets, making it similar to driving my own, smaller car (just much nicer and with more features)!

My family and I enjoyed our time with the GMC Terrain Denali and had a hard time giving it back! Once I drove this vehicle, I realized it might be the car for me!
