Mini-cars like the new Chevrolet Spark have endured many myths and stereotypes over time, which is why we’re exposing the truth of these small, yet durable cars!

Myth 1: Mini-Cars have Poor Vehicle Performance
Reality: Due to the petite size of the car, drivers are able to enjoy a sportier, more dynamic driving experience. The vehicle’s structure and frame enable the mini-car to easily navigate through tight turns and narrow spaces. You can thank the MacPherson strut front suspension for these tight handling characteristics.

Myth 2: Mini-Cars are Uncomfortable
Reality: The Chevrolet Spark offers a large and adjustable cargo area. The seats are able to easily fold, opening space when needed. Four individuals can ride comfortably in the mini-car – the Driving the Midwest team recently tested this successfully! Four people ranging in heights from 5’8” to 6’4” were able to easily and comfortably fit in the Spark for an extended period of time.

Myth 3: Mini-Cars are Unsafe
Reality: The Spark features advanced safety technology, including 10 air bags and a body frame made of high-strength steel. Chevrolet knows how precious all your cargo is, so we focus on prevention first and defense second.

Myth 4: Mini Cars are More Aerodynamic
Reality: Despite what people may believe, physics does play a role in fuel economy. Most mini cars re shaped tall and, well, mini, which is not the best shape for reducing drag. However, the Spark’s design makes it easy to maneuver and park, achieving the lowest estimated fuel cost of any Chevrolet small car besides the electric Volt.

Myth 5: Mini-Cars are Boring
Reality: The Chevrolet Spark offers the newest color trends paired with the latest technology, which is anything but boring. Spark’s color pallete includes Salsa Red, Jalapeno Green, Techno Pink, Lemonade and Denim. Spark also ditched the CD player, replacing it with the Chevy MyLink system, granting drivers and riders Pandora, Stitcher, Tune-In and BrinGo navigation app.

Believe it or not, the Chevrolet Spark may be mini, but it’s mighty nevertheless!
