The Cadillac CTS-V Made Me a Car Guy

I never considered myself to be a car guy. I drove across the country in the same vehicle for more than a decade and loved it through its last mile. I enjoyed the car simply because it took me from point A to point B. When I replaced it, I needed something to haul more cargo. Again, I wasn’t into performance or features, but merely the fact it served a purpose.
All this changed when I drove the Cadillac CTS-V for a week. Immediately my perceptions about vehicles transformed, and I wanted to be in the car. Driving became less utilitarian and more fun. In fact, I found myself making excuses to drive the car and insisted my friends share the experience with me. I also loved the fact the Cadillac, although a luxury performance car, fit in to my daily life as well. Whether it was cruising with friends, heading to the grocery store or just running basic errands, there were features that easily allowed me to do the everyday tasks I would have with my old SUV.
The CTS-V does things that are simply impossible with other vehicles. The acceleration, speed and handling made me realize why people become gearheads and love performance sport cars. I can easily say driving this vehicle for a week turned me into more of a car guy than I thought I would ever be.
